Young Knights

Believe it or not, Sir Steve and Mortimer were once best friends. The two used to go on adventures and get into trouble long before they became a hero and villain respectively.

Steve was the son of a famed knight named Sir Gallant. Gallant was a great and noble hero, but not the most supportive or sensitive dad. Yet Steve aspired to emulate him and make him proud(and, yes, he is wearing a bucket on his head here). Mortimer was a local ruffian and son of a poor stable cleaner. He spent most of his time out looking for mischief.

The two were a team. That is, until one day when Vikings invaded Kingdomshire and the two kids happened to bump into them. Mortimer tried futily to fight back against them, which amused their chieftain. They took him home with them and taught him the ways of the badass. Steve took it hard and the two didn't see eachother for many years later.
