A curious fact about cartoons is that before the 50s, cartoons did not have a specific target audience and were not aimed at children, this is because the cartoons were shown as animated shorts in the cinema before the film started, and those who consumed the cinema the most were adults, That's why the cartoons of that time had jokes that wouldn't pass today, like smoking cigars and drinking beer and double meaning jokes, but this changed in the 50s when television was normalized in the middle class, and as the cartoons call a lot children's attention (they must have noticed with the comic books) the studios decided to make the animations lighter so that children could watch them without receiving complaints from their parents
